AT PEACE WITH YOURSELF

This idea came to me when I was too early for a lecture. I was sitting alone in the lecture room by myself and at that moment I thought: "I'm content to be in jus my company too". By no means, that is a synonym of having my whole life planned out already or that I've reached the best version of myself. No, for me it means that my heart is calm most times and that my head is in the right mindset.
I have faith that all the puzzle pieces handed out to me by life will eventually fall in the right places. This piece is a way to celebrate this line of thoughts.
The poppies growing out of the shoes represent the internal growth that allowed me to understand myself.
The shoes are worn out and the laces are not done beautifully. Once you're happy with the way you exist you don't pay attention to what others think of you because you put yourself above everyone else. Your messy-and-imperfect-self might be enough for now and that's all that matters.
The chick in between the shoes is a metaphor for your ancient soul resting inside of you. I think that you can achieve true happiness within yourself when you don't try to grasp everything in your life within your control. Sure, it's important and necessary to be responsible to function within society, but, at the same time, we shouldn't forget to be children again every now and then. That's why I didn't want a fully grown animal in this piece.
Finally, the clover is a sign of your silent happiness manifesting on the outside; not through words, rather through your actions. That's why it covers the area where the shoes' shadows would've been. Funny story- myths say that four-leaf clover brings luck because it's rare to find. That's the one I wanted to draw but, somehow, I confused it with the three-leaf clover. The day after I finished this piece, I noticed that the back of my garden was filled with three-leaf clovers.
